There’s No Making Up Lost Time: Keeping Appointments
The Design Studio selection process is an exciting and involved process where we will work together to personalize your new home. It is best to plan ahead, and use your resources wisely. Here are a few rules of thumb that will help speed the process along…
None
First of all, expect the selection process to take anywhere from 4-10 business hours. This may sound excessive, but our estimates—based on a long, well-documented history of home sales—prove it to be an accurate timeline in the case of most customers.
None
Second, we will break your selection-days into 2 hour increments.

Third, be aware that evening appointments fill quickly, and as such, may not be available to all customers. If you’re interested in an evening appointment, make your appointment request known early to our Design Studio scheduler. It is important to keep in mind, that Classic Homes allows for a maximum of 60 days from the date of contract for each customer to complete Design Studio selections.

Finally, the design process requires your full undivided attention. Please make arrangements for child care and pet care. The Studio is a not a child friendly environment and pets are not allowed.
Our Home Collections
Everything about building a Classic home is special and all of our homes start with some pretty spectacular included features that lay the foundation for the design and construction of your new home.
Before you begin your Design Studio experience, please make yourself familiar with the fixtures and finishes included with every Classic floorplan. Each of our flooplans belongs to what we call a Collection. The Collection represents not only the style of home you are building, but also the finishes that are included with each of our single-family ranch and 2-story / 3-story floorplans as well as our attached townhomes and duplexes. Once you understand what features are included with your floorplan, you’re ready to begin your option wish list, and it’s also the ideal way to get a better understanding of the quality materials that go into the construction of your home, right from the start!
Doing Your Homework
As you begin planning for the interior look and style of your new home, you’ll want to consider your lifestyle needs and personal style every step of the way. What type of flooring makes sense for your needs, do you prefer LVT, carpet or hardwood? What color scheme and light fixtures will best complement your new living room? Do you prefer formica, granite or quartz for your countertops?
Within the first week of signing your purchase agreement with Classic, you will be contacted by a member of our Design Studio team to schedule your Design Studio appointments. Your first appointment will be scheduled as a virtual appointment to be conducted by phone or online web meeting software. Your second and subsequent appointments will be in person at the Design Studio
As you browse through our Design Studio Prep tool you’ll be walked through the “feature selection process”, so that you will have a better understanding of the Studio’s resources and how best to use them. Classic’s Design Studio prep resources will start your journey in turning a Classic floorplan into your home.
The Design Process
It isn’t always easy to get it right the first time. That’s why your Design Consultant will meet with you on two separate occasions before you’re asked to finalize your choices.
The first appointment—“Getting Familiar with Your Home; The Essentials”—will take place within 1-3 weeks from the date of your contract. The second and third appointments will take place within 3-6 weeks from the date of your contract — this is the point where we apply “the finishing touches” to your interior selections.
By the time you’ve completed your final appointment (within 60 days from the date of contract), the last of your design decisions and options are complete and you’re ready to authorize your selections. Your Design Specialist will then share your final selections with your Sales and Construction team, who’ll then incorporate them into the final documents for your new home start package.
